Short for squiggles, “squigs” is a pseudonym that captures my interests:
  • Squiggles are what I like to draw on paper to bring an idea to life.
  • Squiggles are the contour lines on a topographic map that I seek out when running or cycling
  • Squiggles are the sinuous movement of my design & life interests
  • Squiggles are childish & fun 〜〜〜〜 I like to learn through play(ing around with ideas)!

Beliefs:

1. Everything is a work in progress.
As an innate perfectionist this is the hardest maxim to follow, but something I remind myself daily.

2. The less you own, the more freedom you have.
This may be a counterintuitive belief to hold for someone who wants to design products destined for ‘consumption’, but I believe in designing things to last, so that what you hold develops a personal significance.

3. Patina produces personality.
Through love and longevity of use of a ‘thing’ something special happens: As it ages it wears & weathers in response to your use (or abuse), producing marks that tell a story & build character.

Organisation

I love these $6 Bunnings containers for storing screws & bolts, but I don’t love retrieving them when I need to fish through each compartment for the item I need. The 22 compartments are narrow and hard to get your fingers in, made worse by the slide-in dividers that easily slide-out, combining the previously [ meticulously] separated supplies.

I made these infill containers with a lip pull so I can remove a collection of bolts, tip them out on my bench & make a mess while I find the one I want, then put them all back together  without disturbing the surrounding storage.

This is what peak organisation means
